Civic Cultural Commrssion Page 2 � <br /> Minutes of January 4, 2001 , <br /> Manager Knight reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -Newsletter from Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> -Flyer from Redwood Symphony announcing music concerts on January 21 <br /> and February 11 <br /> Manager Knight reported she received a phone call from the Northern <br /> California Bluegrass Association who has expressed interest in participating in <br /> our summer concert program. <br /> ITEM 1 — SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Budget <br /> No report at this time. <br /> -Children and Schools, Art Contest <br /> Commissioners Dale and Soultanian will meet with Director Centeno and/or <br /> Manager Knight to develop a timeline for the art contest. <br /> -CCC Sponsored Events, Summer Concert Series <br /> The 'Tis the Season critique meeting will be held Monday, January 15 at the <br /> PCA Offices and Commissioner Kushin volunteered to attend this meeting in <br /> place of Commissioner Ball. The sub-committee agreed to meet soon to <br /> select groups for the Summer Concert Series. <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> This committee will resume meeting in January. <br /> -Public Art, Art in Public Places Program <br /> Chairperson Britschgi asked the Commissioners to provide their input on the <br /> draft "Art in Public Places Program" document. All comments will be <br /> forwarded to Planning Commissioner Tamara Piulle. <br /> The Commissioners agreed on the following changes to the document: <br /> • Both new residential and renovations for commercial/industrial and <br /> residential should be included in program. <br /> • Change: Developers of new commercial and industrial projects with a <br /> total of $1 million or more in construction costs will have to comply. One <br /> percent (1%) assessment will apply. <br /> • Change: New residential construction of 5 units or more will have to <br /> comply. One half percent (1/2%) of the building's valuation will be <br /> assessed. Affordable and subsidized housing projects are exempt. <br />
