6.1.D. - Page 7
- ,
August 26, 2013
Ms. Diana O'Dell
Senior Planner
Planning Services
City of Redwood City
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, California 94063
RE: REQUEST FOR CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 6: STANFORD IN
REDWOOD CITY PRECISE PLAN EIR CITY COUNCIL HEARING
Dear Diana:
On August 20, the Redwood City Planning Commission recommended the Stanford in
Redwood City Precise P{an EIR for certification. From the time of the previous MIG
contract amendment to the Planning Commission meeting, MIG prepared additional out-
of-scope changes to the Final EIR (after it was released to the public) and to the
Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) at City request. These changes
resulted from ongoing discussions between the City and the applicant, and between the
City and MIG, during which the final project details, including mitigation responsibilities,
were refined.
As you know, the Stanford in Redwood City Precise Plan, EIR, and MMRP comprise a
meticulously integrated set of documents. Even the smallest refinement to any one
document required a thorough investigation of its possible effects on the other
documents. In the interest of maintaining the project schedule and momentum, NIIG
continued to work on the Final EIR and MMRP, without requesting additional funds to
cover the out-of-scope work. As a result, after the August 20 Planning Commission
hearing, our project budget is ($1,649.37) (i.e., we have spent$1,649.37 beyond our
budget), and we have the City Council hearing(s) upcoming.
We are hereby requesting a contract amendment no. 6 to cover the existing budget
deficit($1,649.37) plus attendance at two City Council hearings, assuming the Final EIR
is certified at the second hearing. Please note that, since MIG work on this project is
invoiced by the hours of labor, we may not need the entire requested budget(e.g., if the
Final EIR is certified at the first hearing). The anticipated hours and expenses are as
fol lows:
Ray Pendro, E/R Project Manager:
Preparation/Research/Support to City Staff for Hearings = 8 hrs @ $965 =$9,320
Attendance at Two (2) City Council Hearings (incl. travel) = 8 hrs @ $165 =$9,320
Mileage/Bay Bridge Toll (based on Goog/e Map) _$900
T:1106121do-8-26-13(10612).doc
