6.1.E. - Page 1
RE PO RT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the Cit Mana er
September 9, 2013
SUBJECT
Amendment No. 1 to License Agreement with Rudolph & Sletten, Inc. for the use of City
property at 707 and 777 Bradford Street
RECOMMENDATION
By motion, determine that the Amendment is categorically exempt under CEQA and
approve Amendment No. 1 to the License Agreement with Rudolph & Sletten, Inc., for
the temporary use of City-owned property at 707 and 777 Bradford Street providing
construction worker and general public parking and storage for construction trailers.
BACKGROUND
On January 14, 2013, the City entered into an Agreement with Rudolph & Sletten, the
construction company building the Kaiser Hospital. The Agreement provides them the
use of a portion of the Bradford Street lot owned by the City.
ANALYSIS
Rudolph & Sletten had anticipated under the Agreement sufficient space to move six
trailers from the surface parking lot at the Kaiser project. These trailers need to be
moved for a short period of time so the parking lot can be resurfaced. The contractor
requested additional space on the City's property to accommodate these trailers for up
to three months. The attached Agreement provides for that additional space for the
limited time requested.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could reject the request requiring the contractor to find an alternative
solution to repaving the parking lot.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no impact to the City with this amendment.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The City has determined that this use is Categorically Exempt, Section 15304, Minor
Alterations to Land, the location of the expansion area was previously improved with
gravel surface and no change in runoff or impact to Redwood Creek is anticipated by
the temporary storage of trailers on this site.
