PUBLIC HEARING - CertiReation of Redwood City's 1989-1999 Housing <br />Element; (601) <br />Associate Planner Riordan stated staff is recommending adoption of Redwood City's <br />revised 1989-1999 Housing Element. The advantage to adopting the Housing Element <br />is it allows Redwood City to compete for housing programs developed by the State. It <br />also provides the highest level of evidence of adequacy of the General Plan Housing <br />Element, which provides the greatest protection against legal challenges. <br />Mayor Ruskin opened the public hearing. <br />MIS Ho to close the public hearing. The motion passed by a unanimous <br />voice vote by those present. <br />MIS Howard/Pierce to adopt RESOLUTION 14079 ADOPTING AND APPROVING <br />REVISED HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY (1989-1999 Housing Element); with revisions noted below. <br />1) Section 2; page 10, Item I — delete the parenthetical phrase "Ge. nimbyism was <br />responsible—Roosevelt Townhouse Project) ". <br />2) Section 2; page 20 (d) — delete the word "NIMBYism". <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br />NIINUTE ORDER 00-322 <br />D. PUBLIC HEARING Roosevelt Avenue Underground Utility District No. 2000- <br />2001; (804) <br />Engineering and Constriction Manager Patterson explained this project is the <br />rebuilding of Roosevelt Avenue from Hudson to valota Road with two alternatives. <br />This action will set the public hearing for December 11, 2000, establish the <br />underground district and hire Wilsey Ham to do the construction. <br />Mayor Ruskin opened the public hearing. <br />M/S Howard/Jordan to close the public hearing.
