My husband and I are rvsiderrts of Highland Ave., Redwood City for the past 32 years. We have <br />aid all of the meetings regarding the projected dsvelopnnent at the end of Laurel Way. <br />To add to our list of conoerns, along with those of our nelghbors, we would 111W for you to consider <br />the heightened level of traffic that will be after# Highland Avenuo. it in the only point of access to <br />Laurel Way. Our street Is designated, by the clay, as a substandard street, It has not been re -Meed in <br />over a decade. There are enormous pot holes that Just keep gaiting pe tched but always open up again <br />by the time the rainy season starts_ <br />We live on the opposite side of the canyon where the cimnlopment is slated to be built. According to <br />the geologic report there is a large area of usrpentlns rock where there is a naturally existing Wei of <br />asbestos. When the excavation begins for this project all of the neighbors will be wWosed to <br />dangerous amounts of asbestos. For those of us with children who have asthm this Is very <br />worrisome. <br />Along with all the other !tarns nondoned In the EIR that summarize that everything found In the Laurel <br />Way area that may have a potential dmirnslds can all be "mitigated to a ladel of acmes" trey <br />husband and I believe that the mitigation factors are unrealiatic and do not address the actual dangers <br />and hazards of the residents of tate wonderful n lghborhood. <br />Piesse racanslder the approval of the MR and fat our appeal address the realistic threats to all of us In <br />this i , -, munity. <br />Sincerely, <br />Nancy Krcrsae <br />
