On
behalf of SLW, we are filing an appeal of the Planning Commission's approval of a
"master planned development permit application" for the Laurel Way Joint Venture
Project ("Project") and associated certification of a Revised Final Environmental Impact
Report ("RFEIR") for that Project. The "Notice of Final Determination" for the Project
was sent to the applicant on April 1, 2013. While the Planning Commission echoed many
of the group's serious concerns about the Project's inappropriate scale and issues of
public safety during its discussion of the Project at its March 26 hearing, in the end, the
Commission approved the Project, with minor limitations, and certified the EIR.
1 SLW is sometimes referred to as "LWANA" or "Laurel Way Area
Neighborhood Association."
