The historic groun.dwaer levei in the n.earbyea is approximately 10 to 24
feet (CGS, 2006). Based on the bleached horizon it is likeiy that theoundwater at tle site has
historicay been as ligh as at leas# 18 feet bgs.
Laboratory Tesing
As the borings were drilled, soil samples were abtained using a tube-lined barrel sampler(ASTM
D 3550-01 (2007} with shoe sixnilar to D 2937-04). Standard penetration tests were also
performed at selected intervals (ASTM D 1586-0$a). Thirteen tube samples of the soil were
tested for moisture and density (ASTM D 2216-OS and D 2437-04) and an additional four
stand.ard penetration samples were tested for moisture only (ASTM D 2216-OS}. Three sazrzples
was tested fo- particle size distribution (ASTM D 4318-OS). Coies of the laboratory test results
aze included in Appendix B,
4.0 DATA ANALYSIS
Subsurface Soi Classifcation
Based on the data in the boring Iogs (See Appendix A), the soils are assigned to Site Class D
(stiff soil) as defined by Table 1613A.5.2 o'the 2007 CBC.
Seisxaic Design Paraneters
The seismic parametErs presented below comply with Chapter 16 of the California Building
Code (2007 Edition).
