<br />Community Development Services Supervisor Jones-Thomas said, "On Saturday, <br />Housing Secretary Cuomo announced at the National Conference of Mayors that <br />Redwood City had won the John J. Gunther Award for City Center Plaza." She said <br />this award is a 'best practices award', and it signified that Redwood City was one of <br />the few cities in the country that is engaging in innovative partnerships with the <br />federal government to meet affordable housing needs. <br />1) MIS: RUSKIN/HARTNETT. Fiscal Year 1997/98 Budget Revisions; (404) <br />STAFF REPORT: Redevelopment Agency Executive Director Church, June 22, <br />1998 <br />City Manager Everett presented the staff report and said this proposal was in <br />response to two projects about to begin: the Downtown Cinema Project and the <br />Broadway Sidewalks Project. He said these were new proposals that were not <br />included in this year's Budget and had no appropriated funds in this fiscal year. City <br />Manager Everett said if the projects move forward the funds would be rolled over into <br />the next fiscal. City Manager Everett said, "we wanted to, at the close of this year, <br />since we have started the process of looking at RFPs, etc., set-up the appropriation <br />limits. That is basically the $2 million that was negotiated by the Council and the <br />School District. About $1.2 million will come from fund balances, $800,000 will <br />come ITom Agency Bond Funds, and the Bond funds will contribute $80,000 for the <br />Broadway sidewalks." <br />I) MIS CLAIRE/RUSKIN.
