1 Project Descrit��ion <br /> This connecrion paint would be at least 15 feet from the i�ank of Redwood Creek. The project also <br /> includes the demolirion af the existing putnp starion. <br /> 1.S PRQJECT CONSTRUCTION <br /> The area of potential effects (APE) for constructi.on of the project wou.ld be within rights-of-way <br /> held by the City and state {California Department oF Transportation}. The APE includes all a�eas <br /> subject to disturbance ftom construction activities,includtng designated staging areas,construction <br /> personnel parking areas,and areas for la�down and storage.Access to the project construction axeas <br /> would cor�sist of existing paved roads and pathways. <br /> 1.5.'! Construction Access <br /> Existing paved surfaces would provide access to the project construcrion areas. Baix Island Road <br /> wauld provide construction access for work on the east side of US 101 and the staging axeas for the <br /> project. Convention Way would provide construcrion access on the west side of US 101. �ccess ta <br /> the City-owned parcel would be via Main Street. <br /> An estimated 6 to 12 woxkers would travel to and from the project site each day. Construcrion <br /> workers would park in designated areas within the APE or aZong Main Street. <br /> Trucks would access the site to temove an estimated 230 trucl�oads of excess soil anc� other debris <br /> from trenching and excavation and transport these materials to an appropriate disposal site such as <br /> the Ox Mountain Landfill in western San Mateo Count�T. Approxiinately 32 truck deliveries would <br /> be needed for the wet well,drainage pipes,and pump equipment for the pump station project,and <br /> another estimated 95 truck deliveries for cancrete,equipment,lighring,landscape trees,and other <br /> site improvement materials for construction of the joint-use path. <br /> 1.5.2 Consfructio� Ac#ivities <br /> The first stage of construction would consist of construcuon planning and installing exclusionary <br /> fenc�ng and temporary erosion control measures at the ptoposed lapdown areas and the construcrion <br /> site. The contxactor would install a wash down area at the construcrion entrance using potable <br /> water. �nce these systerns are installed, crews would then begin clearing ateas to make way for <br /> construction activities and assembling equipment and nnaterials. <br /> Pump Statron Construction <br /> Construction of the stormwater pump station on Bair Island Road would precede the work of the <br /> joint-use path undercrassing. The new pump starion would require excavatian to install the pre- <br /> fabricated 2,900-cubic foat wet well. Pile drivers would be needed to i�stall the tempoxary shoring <br /> for the installarion of the wet well. Ttenching woula be needed for the 42-inch DIP pipe to connect <br /> the Bair Island Road storm drair�s �o the new pu�mp starion site and to rie the 24-inch pipe into the <br /> e�sting discharge pipe. Excava�ion for the storm drain pump station woul.d require removal of up <br /> to 400 c�abic yards of materials.
