The project would physicaIly link development areas and negate some of the division <br /> produced by the highwap. <br /> A small homeless encampment currendy accupies a portion of the space underneath the US 101 <br /> bridge on the western bank of Redwood Creek. The proposed project would displace this informal <br /> community, estimated to consist of three to si�c people, based on site surveys. The City has a number <br /> af homeless prevenrion ptagrams that would be available to these individuals prior to the <br /> commencement of pxoject construcrion. The City has adopted rhe following objectives in its <br /> Consolidated Plan (2010-2015) to address homelessness and homelessness prevenrion: <br /> HOM-1 Inc�ease the number of transitional and permanent supportive housing <br /> units for the homeless. <br /> HOM-2 Support existing emergency shelter facilities and programs. <br /> HOM-3 Incxease the number of shelter beds available fo� fan�ilies with children <br /> �'-�'] US �09 Pedestrian U�aderc�rossirag and Bair <br /> Island A.oad Sta�m Drain Pump Statiora Project <br />
