s • <br /> 10/07/2013 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 15299 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY TO VACATE A PORTION OF <br /> BRADFORD STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT <br /> TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS <br /> CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Part 3 (commencing at Section 8300) <br /> of Division 9 of the California Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of the City of <br /> Redwood City("City Council"), hereby vacates portions City right-of-way within Bradford <br /> Street as deeded to the City on that deed recorded on January 5, 1897, appearing in <br /> Deed Book 73, Page 518 of the Official Record of the County of San Mateo; of which <br /> the legal description is attached hereto as Exhibit A (legal description) and Exhibit B <br /> (plat); and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 9, 2013, the City Council adopted a resolution of <br /> intention to vacate a portion of Bradford Street, and setting a public hearing for October <br /> 7, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to said provisions of the Califomia Streets and Highways <br /> Code, notice of intention to vacate the herein described portion of Bradford Street as <br /> deeded to the City on that deed recorded on January 5, 1897, appearing in Deed Book <br /> 73, Page 518 of the Official Record of the County of San Mateo; was published and <br /> posted in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit C (public hearing notice); <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City also sent utilities notice of its intention to vacate in <br /> substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit E (Notice to Utilities) as well as notice <br /> to property owners within 300 feet; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City held a public hearing on October 7, 2013 to hear evidence <br /> offered by interested persons and to determine from all of the evidence submitted <br /> whether the described portion of the Bradford Street right-of-way is unnecessary for <br /> present or prospective public use. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
