In an effort to reduce the number of electrical
cabinets and pedestals in the area, the power for the joint-use path will be directed to an
extra circuit in the service cabinet installed with the Bair Island Road Storm Drain Pump
Station Project.
The agreement cost is based on the consultant's hourly rate schedule. Staff believes
the additional scope of work is comprehensive, represents a solid level of effort, and is
essential to delivering a complete project.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to authorize the execution of Amendment 2 and direct staff to
exclude the cathodic protection design for the micropiles and additional scope to
change design of creek side retaining wall.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for this project were approved and appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2013/14
budget as Blomquist Avenue Extension Project which has an available balance of
$1,262,780.14, as of September 30, 2013.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As the lead agency under CEQA, City of Redwood City is conducting CEQA review
concurrent with the design of this project. As the lead agency under the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Caltrans has determined that the project meets the
NEPA exclusion criteria as set forth in Section 771.117(c) (3), "Construction of Bicycle
Facilities."
 =- `"
: =
, -".A _
TANISHA WERNER, P.E.
ASSISTANT ENGINEER II
G
BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR

ROBERT B.
