American <br /> Electric Lighting (AEL) is an American based lighting company with a 60+ year history <br /> ro <br /> of producing luminaires specifically for roadway applications. Over the years, we <br /> have produced many different fixtures, using various lighting technologies. In the <br /> last decade, the advancements in LED lighting technologies have provided <br /> efficiencies significantly beyond any other. These efficiencies, combined with <br /> extremely long life, makes LED Street lighting an excellent contributing project <br /> toward Redwood City's Climate Action Plan. <br /> We have proudly installed over 200 LED street lighting fixtures in Redwood City <br /> (Veteran's Blvd, 'Motor City', East Bayshore Road, and the Main Library), with an <br /> average of 45% energy savings. These fixtures installed in 2012 have a 100,000 hour <br /> rated life. Assuming 11 hours of operation /day, these fixtures will be in operation in <br /> 2037. The LED light also provides exceptionally crisp, white light providing superior <br /> color rendering. <br /> AEL is a part of the Acuity Brands Corporation.
