Approve the Minutes of the July 27, 1998 Closed Session, Board of <br /> Equalization, and Regular Council meeting as submitted. <br /> Regular Council meeting-Vice Mayor Ruskin requested his comments on <br /> page 14, paragraph 5, following first sentence be amended to include that he <br /> had stated he will vote "no" on the budget ordinance as he believes the money <br /> for the NPDES should come through the sewer fund from the general fund. <br /> Upon verification, this will be added to the minutes. <br /> MIS: Hartnett, Ira, unanimous by voice vote, to approve the minutes as <br /> amended. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 98-219 <br /> I. RESOLUTION NO. 13396 APPROVING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR <br /> MARLIN AND STAFFORD PARKS RESTROOM FACILITIES; AND <br /> AUTIIORIZING AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS THEREFOR. <br /> (304) <br /> Council Member Leipzig felt that the amount of $125,000 seems high for a <br /> park bathroom; therefore, he will vote "no" on this item. <br /> Senior Civil Engineer Chang said the restroom material costs about $40,000, <br /> installation $20-30,000, foundation $10,000. The basic cost is $70-80,000. <br /> The Marlin Park facility costs more than the Stafford Park restroom. <br /> - Vice Mayor Ruskin also expressed concern regarding the cost, but <br /> understood that by using modular units, upkeep and maintenance can be <br /> standardized. Landscaping around the restrooms and American Disabilities <br /> Act requirements also add to the cost. <br /> MIS: Hartnett, Claire, to adopt the resolution entitled "Contract Documents <br /> for Marlin Park Restroom Facility and Stafford Park Restroom Facility" and <br /> authorize the advertisement for bids. <br /> The motion was adopted with Councilman Leipzig dissenting; roll call vote. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 3.
