��������.� <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR REGIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY <br /> PROCUREMENT <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") is entered into as of February 19, 2013 (the <br /> "Effective Date")by and among the following California jurisdictions: County of Alameda <br /> ("Alameda County"), Castro Vallev Sanitary District, Central Contra Costa Sanitarv District, <br /> City of Berkelev, Cit o�Cupertino, Citv of Emervville, City of Foster City, Citv of Fremont, <br /> City of Menlo Park, City of Mountain View, Citv of Oakland, Citv of Redwood Citv, City of <br /> Richmond, City of Walnut Creek, Contra Costa Countv, County of San Mateo, Havward Area <br /> Recreation and Park District, and Universitv of California, Berkelev. Signatories to this MOU <br /> are referred to herein as "the"Parties" and individually as a"Party". <br /> Recitals <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties desire to purchase renewable energy for their operations; <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties wish to take advantage of potential efficiencies when such purchases are <br /> made in large volumes; <br /> WHEREAS, large volume purchases of renewable energy or renewable energy generation <br /> equipment will be made through a regional,multi jurisdiction purchasing arrangement whereby <br /> project sites are aggregated into groups on the basis of the type of technology and geographic <br /> location,various risk and other financing related factors; <br /> WHEREAS, large volume purchases likely result in more efficient procurement than would <br /> otherwise be available if individual jurisdictions independently purchased renewable energy; <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties desire that Alameda County,by and through its General Services <br /> Agency, shall be the lead Party for issuing a solicitation to purchase renewable energy(the <br /> "Solicitation"); <br /> WHEREAS, the Parties acknowledge that the transaction costs associated with purchasing <br /> renewable energy can be reduced when the Parties agree to the same terms and conditions <br /> incorporated within standardized template documents; and <br />
