Approve and authorize the attached Memorandum of Understanding(MOL�,between the County <br /> of Alameda.and agencies participating in the Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Proj ect <br /> (R-REP); and <br /> B. Authorize the Board President to execute the MOU as Participating Agencies sign the agreement. <br /> DISCUSSION/SUMMARY: <br /> On June 12,2012 your Board approved the Resolution of Support for Alameda County's leadership <br /> of the R-REP project;Delegation of Authority to the Director, General Services Agency(GSA), or <br /> designee,to approve renewable energy site survey contracts for vazious County of Alameda <br /> properties, at a not to exceed cost of$2,200 per site with an anticipated tota.l cost of$66,000; arid <br /> approved in concept,the inclusion of va.rious County properties in the R-REP project, with a total <br /> estimated project budget of$25,000,000(Item#23,File#28222). Subsequently, on February 26, <br /> 2013,your Boazd Authorized the Duector, GSA to include 16 County properties in the R REP; <br /> Authorized delegation of authority to the Purchasing Agent to execute and amend Agreements and <br /> transfer funds as necessary for Master Contract No 901053;Amend the Capital Improvement Plan to <br /> increase the project budget for R REP to $966,000; and to Authorize the Auditor-Controller to make <br /> budgetary adjustments(Item#20,File#28757). <br /> The County of Alameda is Lead Agency for the R-REP, an initiative that will utilize collaborative <br /> procurement to purchase renewable energy systems for public agencies throughout Alameda, Contra <br /> Costa, San Mateo and Santa Claza Counties. In addition to the County of Alameda, 20 other public <br /> agencies aze actively participating in the project. Each agency participating in the R-REP is required <br /> to sign an MOU by and among the County of Alaxneda and the other agencies participating in the <br /> R-REP(a list of R-REP MOU signatories is attached). The MOU defines the roles and <br /> responsibilities of Participating Agencies and is intended to provide stability to the project during the <br /> solicitation process. <br /> The MOU defines the roles and responsibilities of each Participating Agency in the R-REP and <br /> enables the development of the R-REP Request for Proposal(RFP)by the County of Alameda. Staff <br /> worked with County Counsel and the attorneys for all of the Participating Agencies to obtain <br />
