<br /> Mayor Diane Howard called the City Council to order at 9:20am as there was <br /> now a quorum. She thanked the speakers for their comments. <br /> ITEM 1 -INTRODUCTION OF NEW PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS <br /> Mayor Howard introduced newly-appointed Park and Recreation Commissioners <br /> Jeri Joseph and Peter La Berge, and re-appointed Commissioners Vic Morton <br /> and Susan Swope. <br /> ITEM 2 - DISCUSSION ON TODA Y'S MEETING OBJECTIVES AND REVIEW <br /> OF PARK TOUR SCHEDULE <br /> Mayor Howard said she enjoyed the recent Study Session with the Commission <br /> and thanked the Commissioners for promoting our parks and programs in the <br /> community. She asked the Commission for their plans for the coming year. <br /> Chairperson Truscelli reported that the Commission is working on various issues <br /> such as the dog parks in Redwood Shores and west side Redwood City, <br /> ordinance issues regarding heritage trees and allowing dogs in parks on leash. <br /> She also thanked staff for their help with the Commission and introduced them to <br /> the Council and audience. <br /> Superintendent Hover reviewed the plans for the tour and handed out maps to <br /> the various locations. <br /> Park tour to include a tour of Stafford Park, Garrett Park, and Stulsaft Park. <br /> Lunch following the tour was cancelled. <br /> The special meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission and City Council <br /> was adjourned at 11 :05am. <br /> JOINT CITY COUNCIL MINUTES BOOK NO. 57 AUGUST 29, 1998 <br /> & PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION Page 120 PAGE 2 <br /> MINUTES <br />
