7.2.E. - Page 2 <br /> The recommended action is to award the bid to MY Jeep-Chrysler-Dodge-Ram located <br /> in Salinas, California. They were they only dealership to bid. Staff contacted several <br /> government agencies who have purchased vehicles from MY Jeep-Chrysler-Dodge- <br /> Ram and found that they have been a very responsible bidder. There is no Dodge <br /> dealership in Redwood City with which to contract for this purchase. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> The three (3) vehicles scheduled for replacement have met and exceeded their useful <br /> lifecycle and it would not be economically viable to invest in the continued use and <br /> repair of these vehicles if they were to experience a major breakdown due to their age <br /> and condition. The alternative of not approving the purchase of the three (3) 2014 <br /> Dodge Charger SXT's would impact the operational requirements of the Police <br /> Department's Investigation Division since these vehicles are used on a daily basis. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds for the purchase of the three (3) 2014 Dodge Charger SXT's is available in the <br /> FY 2013-14 Equipment Replacement Fund Budget in the amount of $84,397.08.
