<br /> drawings, describing the project's unique features, and also presented a video clip of <br /> the project. <br /> Ms. Lorianna Kastrop, 28 Meadow Lane, asked the Council to consider the benefits <br /> to the business community and to the public that the project would provide if <br /> approved. <br /> Mr. Don Saye, 2021 Broadway, expressed his support of the project. <br /> Mr. Keith Bautista, 3010 Sterling Way, President of DES Architects, noted that the <br /> City deserved a quality project such as this and supported its creative concepts which <br /> would increase the quality oflife for the community. <br /> Mr. David Stuart, 927 Blandford, representing Regional 1 Redwood City Youth <br /> Soccer Association, expressed that a need existed for recreational space and urged <br /> the Council to approve the project. <br /> Ms. Kristen Anderson, 1120 Roosevelt, Child Care Coordinator for Redwood City, <br /> conveyed that other proposals have contained provisions for a child care center which <br /> have not been implemented. Noting that the Pacific Shores development agreement <br /> did not require the developer to build a child care facility, she proposed that a <br /> condition be added to the development agreement which would increase the <br /> likelihood of actually developing a child care center. <br /> Ms. Petra Reed, 229 Fulton Street, stated she was in favor of the project. <br /> Dr. Steve Howard, 907 Katherine, member of the City's Architectural Committee, <br /> voiced his support of the project. <br /> MIS: IralHartnett to close the Public Hearing (at 9:32 p.m.) Passed 5-0 (Howard, <br /> Leipzig absent.) <br /> 4) Public Hearing Closed - 9:32 p.m. <br /> Engineering and Construction Manager Patterson presented additional <br /> information at the request of Vice Mayor Ruskin, noted that the infrastructure was <br /> private and that all improvements would be subject to inspection by the City, and <br /> responded to questions from Council members. <br /> A lengthy discussion ensued. <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES BOOK NO. 57 SEPTEMBER28,1998 <br /> MINUTES Page No. 164 PAGE 5 <br />
