Exqerience: One year of responsible experience in a city planning department. TraininQ: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in city or regional planning, architecture, or a related field considered useful in city planning. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. Special Requirements Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: Ability to work in a standard office environment with some ability to travel to different locations. Principal Planner Consultant will also provide Lisa Costa Sanders, Principal Planner to assist with larger, complex planning project management. Ms. Costa Sanders, acting as a Contract Principal Planner, will process planning entitlements and long range planning projects including but not limited to: general plan and zoning code amendments; design review; conditional use perrnits and manage City consultants for the preparation of Mitigated Negative Declaration and Environmental Impact Reports, assigned by the Community Development Director or Planning Manager consistent with the duties of the Redwood City Principal Planner job description provided below. This position would work primarily on cost-recovery projects, whereby the costs associated with this contract Principal Planner would be reimbursed by project applicants. For assignments that are not cost recovery, Consultant shall produce a scope of work and budget to be associated with the assignment, and shall receive written confirmation from the City prior to commencement of work. General supervision of this position would be provided by the Community Development Director and Planning Manager.
