7.2.C. - Page 16
directly linked to conduits and open channels in the model hydraulics component. Once model stability for
extreme events is assured, Consultant shall run the model for the full suite of design storms with detailed
representation of system tail water conditions. Develop 2D Existing Condition Floodplain Model:
The interior model will include the infrastructure identified in Table 1 below:
Table 1:Interior ModelInfrastructure Included
Price 0.0 1.5 14
Veterens 0,0 1.5 12
Bradford 0.0 2.0 26
Oddstadt 0,0 1.4 14
Maple and Kmart ■ 0.3 ME- 14
Redwood Creek 0.8 0.3 MEM
TOTAL: 1.1 8.2 82
Develop Tidal/Boundary Condition Model Component: Consultant shall develop open channel hydraulic
models for reaches of K.-Mart, Redwood Creek, and the channel along 101 and Blair Island from the Bay to
the end points.
Develop Tidal Boundary Conditions. FEMA is developing a new regional South Bay 2D model. DHI has been
brought on the team so that the most recent version of this model can be utilized for development of the
tidal still water elevations. Consultant shall use the most recent version of the South Bay 2D model to
develop tidal still water elevations.
Calibration:Consultant shall place a recording gage at the following locations:
1. In interior pipes upstream of either the Maple or Bradford Pump Station
2. In Redwood Creek underground pipe upstream of Bradford Pump Station
Consultant shall use Data from the gages in the first significant storm of the season to calibrate the
hydrologic parameters. The first gage will help calibrate interior system models, and the second will be used
to calibrate the Redwood Creek hydrology In the tidal/boundary condition model. Doppler RADAR data for
the selected storm will be collected and used as input to the calibration model. Consultant shall collect and
compile the Doppler RADAR and gage-adjust with a resolution of 1 square kilometer, at 5 minute increments.
The gage adjusting is done with local on the ground precipitation data to calibrate the RADAR depths to
actual depths.
Deliverable:Calibrated Interior H&H Model of Five Watersheds, Linked to Calibrated Boundary Condition
Model.
Schedule: to be completed by July 31,2014.
REV:01-15-14.t5
ATTY/AGR.2014.007/Wood Rodgers Storm Plan
