Middlefield Road Underground Utility District No. 2011-1 - Public <br /> Hearing (804) <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Hold a Public Hearing, waive first reading and introduce an Ordinance amending <br /> Middlefield Road Underground Utility District No. 2011-1 Boundary and extending <br /> the overhead facilities removal date, and considering the project as categorically <br /> exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA <br /> Guidelines Section 15302(d). <br /> ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2376 BY MODIFYING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE <br /> ESTABLISHED MIDDLEFIELD ROAD UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2011- <br /> 1 TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL TERRITORY AND EXCLUDE OTHER TERRITORY AND <br /> BY EXTENDING THE REMOVAL DATE FOR OVERHEAD UTILITIES <br /> MINUTE ORDER 13-155 <br /> Mr. Bill Ekern, Community Development Director, presented a brief staff report noting <br /> this was some clean up legislation relating to this matter. One Council Member was <br /> very appreciative of the joint efforts with the County and he hopes these will continue. <br /> Mayor Aguirre opened the Public hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> M/S SeybertJGee to close the public hearing. Motion carried 6-0 to close the public <br /> hearing. <br /> M/S Pierce/Seybert to introduce the ordinance. Motion carried 6-0 by electronic vote <br /> with Council Member Foust absent. <br /> 8. STAFF REPORT(S) - None. <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> Council Member Bain opined that with the closure of the Malibu Grand Prix there is a <br /> loss to the community of family entertainment. He gave examples of cities that have in- <br /> house karting opportunities. Council Member Pierce spoke about the item on the <br /> Consent Calendar specifically the after school program and the communique from the <br /> schools to the parents. She highlighted the test scores and the gains in schools.
