review and direction: an outline on the process, programs, and funding for Community <br /> Sustainability, a Street Car Feasibility Study as it is completed with an update on who is <br /> enrolling, and feedback on the program offerings for the Graduate School of Business. <br /> Dr. Bell thanked Stanford, from a Staff level, saying that they have established a great <br /> relationship and he also acknowledged Community Development, Planning, City <br /> Attorney Staff, and the Council Subcommittee Members for their great work on this. <br /> 9. STAFF REPORT(S) - None. <br /> 10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> Vice Mayor Gee said that, in his role as Vice Mayor and as a SamTrans Board Member, <br /> he attended and spoke at the Regional Bike Share Program at San Francisco City Hall <br /> last week. He said it was a great event and an example of what we can do together to <br /> bring bike share throughout the region. He noted that in the first week, 3,000 bike rides <br /> went out through this program and helps people "Bridge the Last Mile" throughout the <br /> Bay Area and he hopes this will help us go below the 40% single occupancy car ride <br /> rate. <br /> Mayor Aguirre noted that Redwood City is unique in having all the transportation pieces <br /> now together and there is no need for a car if you visit downtown - you can do this by <br /> bike, van pool, bus, and zip car to your home and to cultural events. She invited <br /> everyone for the launch of Connect Redwood City at Arguello Plaza at 11:45 a.m. this <br /> Thursday, where as Mayor and as MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) <br /> Member, she will have the honor of cutting the ribbon. <br /> Council Member Seybert said that he and Vice Mayor Gee attended the annual service <br /> in Memory of the Fallen People commemorated at Notre Dame de Namur University. <br /> He said he was impressed by the involvement and leadership of Redwood City and they <br /> honored the passing of Jamie Mateo, past member of the Redwood City Police <br /> Department and Sheriff s Department this year. He noted that Mr. Mateo was a huge <br /> part of community with his family, some of whom currently work with the city, and the <br /> ceremony in his memory was both touching and well represented. <br /> Mayor Aguirre said it was exciting to attend the chain cutting ceremony at the Bay <br /> Bridge last week as both Redwood City's representative and MTC Commissioner <br /> (Metropolitan Transportation Commission). <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update - there was no update. <br /> 10.
