Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City; (This Item was removed from the <br /> Consent Calendar by Vice Mayor Ruskin for consideration at this time.) <br /> REPORT: Senior Civil Engineer Lynch, January 5,1998 l.2°S; 10) <br /> Vice Mayor Ruskin reported that the proposed revised Engineering Standards included <br /> references to tree preservation. He reminded everyone that the City Council was currently <br /> reevaluating the City's tree policy through the Tree Policy Task Force. Vice Mayor <br /> Ruskin said that some of the standards included in the proposed Resolution might have to <br /> be revised in the future, depending on the results of the Task Force's conclusions and <br /> recommendations. <br /> MIS: RUSKINIHARTNETT. ('DI) <br /> MEMO 1/7/98 <br /> Vice Mayor Ruskin explained the purpose of the Consent Calendar and assured everyone <br /> that the City Council gives due consideration to Consent Calendar items. He said prior to <br /> the City Council Meeting, Council Members make telephone calls to staff and other <br /> resources to clarify issues. He said Items are often removed from the Consent Calendar <br /> for more detailed discussions. Vice Mayor Ruskin referred to Consent Calendar Item 3.B. <br /> and thanked staff for instituting a program that has increased employees' use of this <br /> program.
