. I I . I -
D. Pat Dixon, 16 Admiralty Court, described a situation where a young man, blind and with a
- cane, was trying to cross Redwood Shores Parkway at Bridge, but did not negotiate the
crossing well, as the road turns at that point. She suggested the installation of Bot's dots,
to guide people who have difficulty trying to cross safely at that intersection.
E. Terry Anderlini, 619 Marlin Court, addressed item 2.D. on the Consent Calendar, a
Resolution approving contract documents for a bike path along Redwood Shores Parkway,
and said Redwood Shores residents had not been notified or included in this process.
City Manager Everett said that this project had previously been discussed at a Redwood
Shores Home Owners Association in November 1997, but many in the audience said that
was not their recollection.
Mayor Howard said the proposed bike path was in part an answer to complaints from
Redwood Shores residents that Redwood Shores Parkway needed sidewalks. She said the
proposed bike path was a part of that solution.
Mr. Anderlini said the Redwood Shores community needed to have input on these types
of projects, and asked that the Council focus on better communications with the residents
of Redwood Shores.
In response to Council questions, Engineering and Construction Manager Patterson
- described the planned asphalt paving to fix existing problem areas from Bridge Parkway to
Shell.
CONSENSUS: Mayor Howard determined it was the consensus of the Council to
remove this item from the Consent Calendar for further study and input from the Redwood
Shores Home Owners Association and the whole community.
