Appeal of the Tentative Map, Condominium Permit, Planned <br /> Development Permit, and Downtown Planned Community (PC) Permit <br /> for a new development consisting of up to 471 residential units and <br /> approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial uses at 525 Middlefield <br /> Road approved by the Planning Commission on September 3, 2013 <br /> Dr. Bell, City Manager, provided the introduction to the staff report, and noted that since <br /> the appeal was filed, the project was modified in a way that it conforms to the Precise <br /> Plan and satisfied the appellant. He stated the project tonight is a revised project and <br /> that there will be a Study Session in the winter for the Downtown Precise Plan. <br /> Mr. Lyon, Planning Manager, presented the project (presentation on file) and outlined <br /> the changes to the project that have recently been made. These proposed revisions <br /> pertained to the Bradford Façade Composition, particularly the Bradford Street frontage, <br /> and the Bradford and Jefferson Building Placement in terms of the setbacks. <br /> A Council Member thanked staff, the developer and the appellant and stated that in this <br /> situation people communicated effectively and are presenting something better. <br /> Mr. Jeff Car, the appellant, spoke about the appeal and stated that he was pleased that <br /> he could meet with Mr. Paul Powers and do a complete renovation in the façade of the <br /> building. He stated that he and his partners are now in complete agreement with the <br /> project.
