Proclamation in honor of Public Works Superintendent William Adams, who is leaving <br /> Redwood City to become Public Works Deputy Director of Operations in Pleasanton <br /> California; for his six years of outstanding service to the people of Redwood City, his <br /> fellow employees and the Redwood City Public Works Department; (207) <br /> Mayor Howard presented a proclamation and City plaque to William Adams for his <br /> creative leadership and outstanding service to Redwood City and congratulated him on his <br /> promotion. <br /> William Adams thanked the Council and said how much he had enjoyed his six years in <br /> Redwood City and how much he would miss everyone. <br /> MEMO 6/10/98 <br /> _nn_____---______n______--______n______n___-----------------------------------______nn______--------------------------- <br /> 2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (203) <br /> 1. Monica Brooks, 31 Center Street, said she noted the Council's planned discussion later <br /> this evening for expansion of Redevelopment Area No.2 and asked that the Council <br /> consider including the southern end of El Camino Real in the proposed amended area. <br /> Mrs. Brooks submitted petitions stating, "The Redwood Oaks Neighborhood Association <br /> and the surrounding business community petition the County of San Mateo, the City of <br /> Redwood City and the Town of Atherton to establish a joint study session to improve the <br /> south Redwood City EI Camino corridor and nearby Woodside Road. We would like the <br /> study session to address problems of crime in the area and to study ways to improve the <br /> physical appearance of the area." She asked that neighbors and business owners be <br /> included in the study session, open the area to Redevelopment funds, to relocate utilities <br /> underground, plant trees and shrubbery in the medians and construct arches at strategic <br /> points announcing the Redwood Oaks Neighborhood.
