CLAIRE lOl7 MIDDLEFIELD RD. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER JIM HARTNETT REDWOOD CITY, CA <br /> COUNCILMEMBER JEFF IRA <br /> COUNCILMEMBER MATT LEIPZIG <br /> CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER <br /> ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br /> DECEMBER 18, 1997 <br /> CALL TO ORDER - 7:05 p.m., Mayor Howard presiding <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Council Members present: Buchan, Claire, Hartnett, Ira, Leipzig, Ruskin (7:47 p.m. <br /> arrival) and Mayor Howard <br /> Mayor Howard advised that Vice Mayor Ruskin was representing Redwood City at the <br /> meeting of the San Mateo County Emergency Medical Services Joint Powers Authority Board <br /> Meeting, and would join the Council Meeting as soon as he cast the City's vote on several <br /> important issues before the Board. <br /> Council Members absent: None <br /> Staff present: City Manager Everett, City Attorney Schricker, City Clerk Jorgenson, <br /> Finance Director Ponty, Building and Construction Manager Patterson, Planning and <br /> Redevelopment Manager Church, Senior Senior Planner Passanisi, Deputy City Clerk Bein, City <br /> Clerk Administrative Secretary Annuzzi, and Council Volunteer Art Balsamo <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Couneil Member Buehan <br /> INVOCATION: Pastor Dennis Logie <br /> First Christian Church <br /> Pastor Logie told the Council that Eddie Mae Spillers was retiring as Director of the <br /> Emergency Hunger Fund, and no replacement had been found. Pastor Logie said it appeared <br /> that the Emergency Hunger Fund would have to close its doors. Pastor Logie told Council that <br /> the presentation of Bethlehem A.D. on the corner of Middlefield and Maple had grown every <br /> year, and he invited everyone to visit Bethlehem A.D. and see the real Christmas spirit in action. <br /> This annual production will continue through December 23. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 56 <br /> Page No. 106 <br />
