compliment Max Keech and his colleagues in working with the owners association on
getting a more residential feel to their building. The most recent drawing that I have seen
is quite a change and has a softer impact on that community. Another concern I had was
public safety, and Mr. Duebner brought that up when he spoke about the speed and the
traffic increase on Redwood Shores Parkway. I am quite pleased to report that Mr. Keech
is putting money into a fund that will be exclusively used for sidewalks along the east side
of Redwood Shores Parkway as well as the landscaping with that. Traffic, project or not,
we are going to be looking at Redwood Shores Parkway.... We are going to be studying
traffic mitigation, signalization, and signage. There is a school but there are people
walking there all the time. This has certainly helped start addressing the issue by putting
sidewalks in, but that is not the end of it. There will be more done on Redwood Shores
Parkway. We have a traffic engineer and consultants considering it at this time. We will
have public input on any suggestions that are made. I want to thank members of the
audience and those at the last meeting. Your concerns were heard. I truly believe that your
concerns were instrumental in working with Mr. Keech and listening to what he had to
offer. He listened to you and tried to work with you in scaling down the project and
making it a better project, more neighbor friendly. Considering what he was allowed to do
and what he wanted to do, I commend him for working and listening to the neighbors as
well as he did. I also commend the citizens for coming and speaking out so we could truly
hear where the concerns were. I will be voting for this. I think it will be a good project
and it will be going to Architectural Advisory Committee. It will be open to the public in
the evening, and it will be noticed."
REITERATION OF MOTION:
MIS: HARTNETT/RUSKlN.
