Director Light is leaving Redwood City to become City Librarian of San Jose,
California. (207)
Mayor Hartnett thanked Director Light for her outstanding service to the people of
Redwood City and the national Library community. He told the audience that Director
Light had led the Library through an important era of change in Redwood City and created
a Library system that was responsive to the needs of the community and recognized
nationally for its community orientation, innovation and use of technology. Mayor Hartnett
said although the Council, staff and people of Redwood City were very sad to lose Director
Light, it was also a joy to celebrate her successes.
