MIG F 8.A. - Page 293 <br /> City of Redwood City Revised Elm Huaenaurn <br /> January 22, 2014 Page 3-52 <br /> Similar to the 2003 EIR mitigation for Impacts 11-1 through 11-4 above, mitigation details for <br /> Impact 11-5 would be included in the detailed, design-level geotechnical investigations required <br /> for both the previous project and the current project, including an evaluation of corrosive soils <br /> within the limits of all foundation and utility construction, and corrective measures to protect <br /> materials against corrosion from soil. <br /> Conclusion. No change. The mitigation identified in the 2003 EIR for Impact 11-5 remains <br /> applicable to the current Pete's Harbor project and remains sufficient to reduce this impact to a <br /> less-than-significant level. <br /> Impact 11-6 Analysis: Soil Erosion and Sedimentation. The 2003 EIR indicated that project <br /> development would disturb the site's natural topography and vegetative cover, leaving soils <br /> exposed to wind and water erosion during the construction period. The 2003 EIR concluded <br /> that the resulting sedimentation could increase flooding potential and maintenance problems in <br /> Redwood Creek and Smith Slough, and degrade water quality. This condition and identified <br /> potential for significant impact continues to apply to the current Pete's Harbor project. <br /> The associated 2003 EIR mitigation required an erosion control subject to City approval and <br /> consistent with the project-specific Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) required in <br /> the mitigation for Impact 9-1 (see section 3.6 of this Addendum). <br /> Conclusion. No change. It is noted that the project site is flat, with no "natural" topography; <br /> also, existing vegetative cover is minimal, consisting of introduced perimeter and parking lot <br /> trees. The mitigation identified in the 2003 EIR for Impact 11-6 remains applicable to the <br /> current Pete's Harbor project and remains sufficient to reduce this impact to a less-than- <br /> significant level. <br /> Other Impacts. The 2003 EIR determined that the previous Marina Shores Village project <br /> would have a less-than-significant impact resulting from surface failure/fault rupture.
