City of RE 7.1.D. - Page 32 <br /> Planned for Future Implementation between July 2014 and July 2022: <br /> • Through participation and funding of the SMCWPPP's Public Information and Participation <br /> program (PIP),the City will continue implementing SMCWPPP and BASMAA public <br /> education and outreach programs during this time period., <br /> ■ON-LAND CLEANUPS <br /> Implemented Prior to and Continued After MRP Effective Date: <br /> • The City's Public Works Services Department patrols and removes trash and large items <br /> (e.g., mattresses,furniture, etc.) from City right-of-way and other illegal dumping areas <br /> five days/week throughout the City. Currently, one part-time employee is removing <br /> trash and large items for two hours/day.This program has been successful at removing <br /> large illegally dumped items throughout the City. <br /> • The City's Public Works Services Department manages individuals provided by the <br /> County's Sheriffs Work Program.Work conducted may include removing trash and debris <br /> from public rights-of-way and streets,and providing landscape maintenance.The standard <br /> route and request area includes several locations within the City. However,the majority of <br /> locations are within TMAs#1 and#6.The use of the Sheriffs Work Program may occur <br /> up to 5 days/week(Monday-Friday) depending on the availability of individuals.A total <br /> of one to eight people may be available to conduct on-land cleanups.The Public Works <br /> Services Department uses the Sheriffs Work Program throughout the City and is <br /> considering using them to remove trash in high generation areas. <br /> • According to City staff, school personnel and students conduct daily on-land cleanups on <br /> school property during the school week(Monday-Friday).Trash is removed up to the <br /> curb. On occasion, school personnel and students will remove litter within the roadway. <br /> On-land cleanups are being conducted at the following sixteen (16)elementary and middle <br /> schools within the City: <br /> o Clifford Elementary School <br /> o Roy Cloud Elementary School <br /> o Garfield Elementary School <br /> o Hoover Elementary School <br /> o Selby Lane Elementary School <br /> o Adelante Elementary School <br /> o Fair Oaks Elementary School <br /> o Henry Ford Elementary School <br /> o John Gill Elementary School <br /> o Hawes Elementary School <br /> o Orion Elementary School <br /> o Roosevelt Elementary School <br /> o Taft Elementary School <br /> o Kennedy Middle School <br /> o McKinley School of Technology <br /> o North Star Academy(Grades 3-8) <br /> 24 <br />
