John Murphy, 421 Luff Lane, Redwood City, addressed the Council regarding the <br /> economic impacts of the proposed sale ofBair Island to POST and eventual transfer to the <br /> Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Mr. Murphy referred to his <br /> previous appearances and seven letters he has written to the Council, conceming the loss <br /> of revenue to the City and to the GID 1-64 if Bair Island is given to POST without <br /> arrangements for reimbursement of lost tax dollars, "which the Council (with the <br /> exception of Councilman Leipzig) so generously gave away." Mr. Murphy reminded <br /> Council "that there are several thousand registered voters within G.LD. 1-64" and <br /> suggested that Council contact Representative Anna Eshoo and others in Washington and <br /> let them know what Redwood City wants in terms of financial relief. <br /> Mayor Hartnett announced that Council Members La Berge and Ruskin had been <br /> appointed to the Task Force on Bair Island with Councilwoman La Berge to serve as <br /> Chairperson. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 97-095 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 3.
