Staff presentation <br /> Director Ponty showed an overhead of the Progranunatic Changes of the 1997/98 <br /> Special Revenue Funds (page 21 and 22 ofthe Report), and said there was a total <br /> of$549,80l in recommended changes, the bulk of which are in the first two items: <br /> Grants/Revenues $350,000 (to be used for a Police Computer <br /> Assisted Dispatch System.) <br /> Regulatory Requirement $125,000 (to be used for a wetlands mitigation <br /> - project on Redwood Creek.) <br /> Policy Matters, including $25,000 to Canada College for Small Business <br /> Development, administration, oversights and unforeseen items make up the rest. <br /> b. Council questions <br /> In response to Councilwoman Buchan's comments regarding Council's direction <br /> to use excess Police Facility construction funds for a Computer Assisted Dispatch <br /> System, Director Ponty said remaining bond funds were being used in <br /> accordance with the bond agreement, and next year $70,000 of those funds will be <br /> used for the Redwood Shores Fire Station. <br /> In response to Councilwoman Buchan's questions, City Manager Everett said <br /> that when the new Police Facility was completed, a computer system was installed <br /> that is a foundation upon which could be added a CAD system, but the CAD was <br /> not purchased at that time. He and Police Chief Bolanos described the Police <br /> Department's grant process which will use the state grant of $350,000 to receive <br /> matching federal funds.
