<br /> B. Pat Dixon, 16 Admiralty Place, said that traffic speeds along Redwood Shores Parkway at <br /> 55 to 60 MPH and asked that something be done to slow it down. She also asked that <br /> traffic stop signs be installed around Sandpiper School and Davit and Shell. Ms. Dixon <br /> submitted a letter of resignation (on file in the City Clerk Department) from the Traffic <br /> Advisory Committee. <br /> Council Members expressed their regret at Ms. Dixon's resignation and expressed their <br /> frustration that the TAC members felt their work wasn't appreciated. They reiterated the <br /> need for an in-depth report and discussion of the TAC and its future. <br /> C. LaVerne Atherly, Candidate for the November 4 Council Election, 515 Cringle, <br /> Redwood Shores Neighborhood, asked Council help in eliminating construction noise on <br /> the weekends in certain Redwood Shores construction sites. In response to Council <br /> questions, Mr. Atherly said he had not approached staff with this request before this <br /> evenIng. <br /> Building and Inspections Manager La Torra described the City's Ordinance that <br /> prohibits construction noise above the ambient on weekends and the procedures for <br /> exceptions. <br /> Mayor Hartnett, Candidate for the November 4 Council Election, asked the City <br /> Manager for a report on this matter including how Redwood City Police are made aware of <br /> construction activities, and Council asked for better communications by the developers <br /> with the surrounding neighbors. <br /> MEMO 9/9/97 <br /> D. Don Frohlich, 491 Topaz, submitted a letter of resignation (on file in the City Clerk <br /> Department) from the Traffic Advisory Committee. <br /> Council Members expressed their regret at Mr. Frohlich's resignation and again expressed <br /> their disappointment that the TAC members felt their work wasn't respected and <br /> appreciated. Council Members assured everyone that they would conduct an in-depth <br /> study of the TAC and its future, as soon as possible. <br /> Councilman Claire acknowledged that the TAC had inherent problems from day one, and <br /> he apologized for that.
