Annual General Plan Progress Report for Calendar Year 2013 <br /> 2013 <br /> Program Number Program Description Status Date Completed 2013 Update <br /> Program NR-17 Small Scale Energy-Producing I/O The City is participating in the Regional Renewable Energy Procurement(RREP)project,a group <br /> Technologies in Public solar procurement project including 19 public agencies and 187 sites,totaling 31 MW capacity. <br /> Buildings The City identified 235kW capacity at the Red Morton Community Center site.The group RFP was <br /> posted 9/18/13. <br /> Program NR-18 Small Scale Wind Power on TBI This program has been delayed due to the retirement of the City Building Official.Once a <br /> Private Buildings replacement has been hired,the City will give this program additional consideration. <br /> Program NR-19 Alternative Energy Incentives I/O In addition to the array of State incentives for alternative energy,as a San Mateo County <br /> jurisdiction, Redwood City participates in CaliforniaFirst,commercial PACE financing,for which <br /> solar is eligible.While many of its programs are oversubscribed,the City's utility,PG&E,also offers <br /> a range of incentives,including the California Advanced Homes Incentives program.The City is <br /> currently participating in the DOE Solar Roadmap project to determine the optimal set of locally <br /> relevant actionable steps to increase cost-effective installation of solar systems. <br /> Program NR-20 Over-Illumination I/O The City reviews development applications to ensure appropriate lighting is being utilized. The <br /> Information and Design City has also begun a limited program of installing LED streetlighting and will continue to study <br /> Assistance and monitor the benefits. <br /> Program NR-21 Energy Reduction I/O Staff consults with PG&E,County of San Mateo CMO and Public Works,and BayREN to provide <br /> Information information,marketing,and outreach for the Energy Upgrade Program.Staff also coordinates <br /> with County Public Works Waste and Environmental Management on implementing the Green <br /> Business Program. <br /> Natural Habitat and Open Space <br /> Program NR-22 Sensitive Species I/O The requirement and identification of biological resource areas are implemented as part of <br /> Identification environmental assessment of newdevelopment. This process is ongoing. <br /> Program NR-23 Mitigate Adverse Impacts of I/O \The mitigation of adverse impacts is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and is implemented as part <br /> Development of environmental assessment of new development.
