<br /> � YACHT HARBOR CQMMITTEE REPORT. Councilman Britschgi reported on the meeting held at the Yacht
<br /> Harbor on Thursday July 15th, at which Councilmen, members of the Recreation Commi.ttee,
<br /> a representative of the Port and City Dspartment heads were in attendance. Mr. Lopez oP
<br /> �^ the Leslie Salt Company was also present and a very satisfactory meeting developed. Final
<br /> „�,,, understanding was reached as to location oP the dike. Location of apur track will be dec-
<br /> ided by the Port commissioners. City Engineer will work out details and as soon as fin�l
<br /> location of spur track is arrived at the location of the proposed St�nford Crew Asaociation
<br /> building can be determined. The cooperation of the Leslie Salt Compan�, is very muah
<br /> appreciated. It appears that the City has obtained five acres of usable ground, the dike
<br /> to be located outside the area. City Clerk was direeted to write a letter of appreciation
<br /> to �rs. Thompson for the excellent luricheon served at the Yacht Club house.
<br /> YOUTH CENTER BUILDIATG SITE. Councilman Stout �►as unable to attend meetirig, however, he forward-
<br /> ed a report to t�he effect that the original eite had proven to be privately owned. Another
<br /> site ia being sought, and Councilman Stout has called a meeting of representatives of the
<br /> various service clubs for Saturday morning, July 31st in the City Managerts office at 10:00

<br /> REPORT ON CONTRACTORS LICEN3ES, CITY COLLECTOR PERRIN. Building Inspecto� is cooperating to the

<br /> end that contractor�s licenses are checked before building permits are issued. Certain sub-
<br /> contractors, however, who would not be required to obtain building permits are causing some
<br /> trouble. City Collector Perrin covered a discussion with fihe 3an Carlos License Collector
<br /> and Was informed that a Police Officer wa� assigned on a part time basis to cheek on all
<br /> contractors �orking within the City. D�. Perrin suggested that a program of this type might
<br /> be advantageous to Redwood City. This ma.tter will be discussed further at the Wednesday
<br /> evening study m�eeting.

<br /> �,,,,�, COUNCIL�A�t BRITSCHGI DISCUSSED TfiE PROP43ED COFFER DAM to be installed near the Bradford Street
<br /> Bridge to keep out tide water during the construction of the Jefferson Avenue culvert. The
<br /> suggestion was made that this da.m be ma,intain�d until the tide gate structures were installed
<br /> in an effort to hold back tide waters which have been causing disagreeable conditions in the
<br /> downtown area.
