10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> Council Member Pierce noted there was a meeting of ABAG (Association of Bay Area <br /> Governments) delegates and there was a discussion of how ABAG could be useful for <br /> cities with priority development areas. She stated that the ABAG staff were interested <br /> in working with jurisdictions and having issues with the Department of Finance, etc. <br /> Council Member Foust congratulated Council Member Seybert and Vice Mayor Gee on <br /> their reelection to the Redwood City City Council. She congratulated Diane Howard, a <br /> former Mayor and Council Member, who was also reelected and is returning to the <br /> Council. <br /> Mayor Aguirre noted that a Sister City delegation would be visiting Redwood City in <br /> December to do the formal signing of the new Sister City agreement. She established a <br /> Friendship Association with a group of immigrants from Mexico in Redwood City. She <br /> expressed her pride in the City, the culture, the businesses and establishing <br /> relationships. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update <br /> City Manager Bell stated that the library received a five-star rating from the Public <br /> Library Journal, and the library is ranked number 1 in the State, and one of finro to get <br /> the five-star rating. <br /> 11.
