Broadway Sidewalk Improvements Project, approval of change orders (Gonsalves and <br /> Stronck) (304). <br /> REPORT: Senior Civil Engineer Lynch, December 9, 1996 <br /> Engineering Manager Patterson presented the staff report and said Change Order No.1 <br /> was for installation of the pavers at the Plaza, and No.2 was to add a new kind of sealer <br /> that wasn't anticipated, tree removal and some identification tags for the electrical system <br /> along Broadway. Manager Patterson described anticipated change orders approximating <br /> $65,000. He added the total for all change orders will slightly exceed 10% of the contract <br /> total, but the project will still come in approximately $290,000 below the budgeted <br /> '-' amount. Some of the left over funds will be used for street furniture. <br /> MIS: RUSKINIHOWARD TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS NO.1 AND NO.2 IN TIlE <br /> AMOUNT OF $104,000 FOR TIlE BROADWAY SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS <br /> PROJECT. <br /> Councilman Ruskin, Chainnan of the Council Streets Committee, advised the work has <br /> been stopped temporarily to allow easy access to the stores and shops along Broadway <br /> during the Holiday season. Councilman Ruskin said the Downtown is looking better than <br /> ever with the new entryway features, the clock tower, the downtown Redwood City arch <br /> and the paved sidewalks.
