7.1.H. - Page 1 <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> May 12, 2014 <br /> SUBJECT <br /> Parcel Map and associated Stormwater Treatment Measures Maintenance Agreement <br /> for the development of a new county jail at 1300 Maple Street by the County of San <br /> Mateo, a political subdivision of the State of California <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. By motion, approve the Parcel Map for lot merger and vacation of easements at 1300 <br /> Maple Street. <br /> 2. By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Stormwater <br /> Treatment Measures Maintenance Agreement with the County of San Mateo, a political <br /> subdivision of the State of California. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The County of San Mateo owns the property at 1300 Maple Street and is responsible for <br /> the construction of all improvements on the site. The County is building a new 208-cell <br /> correctional facility along with space for administration and support. The County is <br /> required to file a Parcel Map and enter into a Stormwater Treatment Measures <br /> Maintenance Agreement as a condition of improvements. <br /> ANALYSIS <br /> On December 7, 2010, the Planning Commission found that the vacation of Chemical <br /> Way is consistent with the City's New General Plan. The Commission adopted <br /> Resolution No. 15073 on December 21, 2010 authorizing the City to vacate Chemical <br /> Way and its easements. As a condition of Resolution No. 15703, the County is required <br /> to file a Parcel Map that merges the area vacated by the City and other four lots into <br /> one lot. <br /> Because the City is the co-permitee under the Municipal Regional Permit, the County is <br /> required to enter into a Stormwater Treatment Measures Maintenance Agreement with <br /> the City <br /> Telamon Engineers has completed the parcel map, stormwater treatment plans, and <br /> specifications in accordance with the Subdivision Map Act, Redwood City Ordinances, <br /> City Standards, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. <br />
