<br /> . - - <br /> migration to the end of the month pick-up service led to decreased use of weekly <br /> service which led to decreased revenues. <br /> '-- Mr. Day described BFI's proposal of alternating weekly pick-ups of green waste and <br /> recyclables instead of the end of the month service; and the continued special pick-ups <br /> for a fee, and the two semi-annual ITee pick-ups. <br /> Gino Gasparini, BFI, explained the process for approval of the proposals, getting all <br /> the cities of the JPA on board, and agreed that October 1 was optimistic. <br /> Councilman Claire stated he received 22 calls regarding the end-of the month <br /> service, that it was very important to the people of Redwood City, and asked BFI to <br /> do some research on lifeline rates. <br /> MEMO 2/6/96 <br /> 2) Open public hearing; <br /> Mayor Hartnett declared the public hearing open at 9:24 p.m. <br /> 3) Hear public comment; <br /> Mayor Hartnett called upon those in the audience who had submitted speaker's <br /> cards and wished to address this issue. <br /> --- Jack Anthony, 1216 Johnson Street, asked the Council for specific details as to why <br /> an 8.5% increase was needed, and justification for taking away the end of the month <br /> service that was so popular.
