Furthermore, <br /> the Vice Mayor stated that she is intrigued about the Jay Paul development and would <br /> like to see office and housing next to each other. Overall, the Vice Mayor would like to <br /> see on the project description how to make everything work and see its circulation. She <br /> wants Redwood City to be a City on the Bay not by the Bay. <br /> Mayor Gee reiterated his appreciation of everyone's work and comments. He wants to <br /> bring attention to the word "balance" on how it is important that resources are spent for <br /> the entire City, not just one area. He said that if we can't find that balance, then the City <br /> needs to find leverage. The Mayor also said that he was intrigued with the Jay Paul <br /> Development, because it is next to Highway 101. He is okay with the parallel <br /> development and would like to look at them from both sides. Mayor Gee addressed the <br /> development partners and Partnership Redwood City. He would like all businesses and <br /> developers to be partners. The Mayor said he would like all to move forward and that <br /> there is overall conceptual support, but more work on the detail needs to be done. <br /> 12. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> Council Member Seybert noted that at the last Town Hall meeting there was discussion <br /> on the sewer main project in Redwood Shores and he didn't have many details at that <br /> time. But, when he attended the Silicon Valley Board meeting, he found out that the levy <br /> and road options were not preferred options and the tunneling is the preferred option. <br /> He will continue to update the Council on this issue and he has already contacted most <br /> of the concerned residents. <br /> Vice Mayor Foust spoke about the first Stanford Speaker Series in Redwood City, this <br /> gathered about 800 people and how the community benefits from the Stanford <br /> institution. She said there was not one negative comment that she heard about it so far, <br /> and felt very proud of bringing this event to our residents. <br /> Mayor Gee thanked the Council, the Staff and the community for the Town Hall on May <br /> 5th and he announced that the next one will be on October 30, 2014 at the Fair Oaks <br /> Community Center. He too heard good comments from the meeting in that the Council <br /> was accessible to the community. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update <br /> D.
