ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> 7.1.A. - Page 7 <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> CHIEF OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (COA) <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> Effective the first full pay period on or after October 1, 2015, the salary schedule for all <br /> classifications represented by COA will be increased by three percent(3%). <br /> 4. Employee Cost Sharing of City's Contribution to Pension <br /> In accordance with Section 20516(f) of the California Government Code, each unit <br /> member shall continue to pay five percent (5%) of base salary toward the employer cost <br /> of retirement as provided in Article 13.4 of the 2011 —2013 MOU between the parties. <br /> Year 2: Effective the first pay period on or after April 1, 2015, each unit member shall <br /> pay an additional two and one-half percent (2.5%) of base salary toward the employer <br /> cost of retirement (a total of 7.5% employee cost sharing of City's pension contribution) <br /> in accordance with Section 20516(f) of the California Government Code. <br /> Effective the first pay period on or after October 1, 2014, the salary schedule for all <br /> classifications represented by COA will be increased by two and one half percent (2.5%). <br /> Year 3: Effective the first pay period on or after April 1, 2016, each unit member shall <br /> pay an additional two and one-half percent (2.5%) of base salary toward the employer <br /> cost of retirement (a total of 10% employee cost sharing of City's pension contribution) <br /> in accordance with Section 20516(f) of the California Government Code. <br /> Effective the first pay period on or after October 1, 2015, the salary schedule for all <br /> classifications represented by COA will be increased by two and one half percent (2.5%). <br /> 5. Reopeners: The parties agree to reopen Section 14.2.3 entitled "Internal Alignment" in <br /> October 2014 in order to address compaction with subordinate job classifications. <br /> Upon City notification to the Association, the parties will meet and confer during the <br /> term of the agreement over schedule changes for employees assigned to the fifty-six (56) <br /> hour shift schedule. <br /> 6. Physical Fitness Program: The parties agree that Department policy will be amended to <br /> permit employees represented by the Association to participate in the Department's <br /> physical fitness program, subject to guidelines of the Department's Physical Fitness <br /> Committee. This provision will not be added to the MOU. <br /> 7. Strike Team Leader Requirements: The Battalion Chief job description will be <br /> amended to add the job duty of Strike Team Leader, and to require new employees in the <br /> job class of Battalion Chief to complete all trainee requirements for Strike Team Leader <br /> Engine Trainee (STEN(T)) and Resource Ordering & Statusi-ng System Admin (ROSS) <br /> qualified trainee. Upon completion of Strike Leader Team requirements, Battalion Chiefs <br /> are encouraged to complete two, Level 2, continuing education classes per year, with an <br /> emphasis on classes approved by the State Fire Marshal, National Fire Academy, and <br /> Page 3 of 22 <br />
