06/09/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15347 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO FORM THE DOWNTOWN <br /> REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY BENEFIT IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br /> PURSUANT TO THE REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY BENEFIT <br /> IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT PROCEDURAL ORDINANCE AND <br /> SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING IN <br /> CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> WHEREAS, the Redwood City Community Benefit Improvement District <br /> Procedural Ordinance (Redwood City Municipal Code Chapter 31) (the "Ordinance"), <br /> which incorporates most of the provisions of the Parking and Business Improvement <br /> District Law of 1994 (Streets & Highways Code Section 36600 et seq.) (the "PBID Law") <br /> authorizes the City to form Community Benefit Improvement Districts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition (the "Petition") requesting <br /> the formation of a Community Benefit Improvement District (the "CBID") to be <br /> designated the "Downtown Redwood City Community Benefit Improvement District;" <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Petition, which has been signed by signed by property owners in <br /> the CBID who will pay more than thirty percent of the assessments proposed to be <br /> levied in connection the CBID, meets all of the requirements of Section 36621 of the <br /> PBID Law, as modified by Section 31.8 of the Ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Petition is on file in the Office of the City Clerk available for <br /> public inspection, and incorporated herein by reference; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to conduct proceedings to form the <br /> CBID. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, the City of Redwood City Council hereby resolves the <br /> following: <br /> Section 1. The above recitals are all true and correct. <br /> Section 2. The City Council declares its intention to form the CBID. <br /> Section 3.
