sidewalk at the distances specified below, depending on the type <br /> of fencing . Privately constructed fences are prohibited in the <br /> public right of way. <br /> b . Decorative Fencing . All decorative fences must be set back a <br /> minimum of 18 inches from the sidewalk. The privately owned <br /> area between the decorative fence and sidewalk must be <br /> landscaped and maintained in a healthy and weed-free condition . <br /> c. Non-decorative Fencing . All non-decorative fences must be <br /> set back at least 5 feet from the property line. The setback area <br /> shall not be surfaced with asphalt, concrete, or other similar paving <br /> material except for driveways or walkways.
