6/7/2004 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14592 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING PICNIC AREA RESERVATION RATES FOR <br />SELECTED CITY PARKS; READOPTING UNIFORM BUILDING <br />RENTAL RATES FOR PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES, AND; <br />RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 14505 <br />WHEREAS, on February 24, 2003, the City Council adopted Resolution No. <br />14505 which adopted uniform building rental rates for parks and recreation facilities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has not previously charged for the <br />reservation or rental of picnic areas located in City parks; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department <br />(the "Department ") has conducted a study of picnic area reservation /rental rates in the <br />County of San Mateo and nine (9) cities located in San Mateo and Santa Clara <br />Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department reviewed the data obtained from the study, <br />developed proposed rates, rules and regulations, and recommended to the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission (the "Commission ") picnic area reservation rates; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 12, 2004, the Commission voted to recommend the <br />adoption, by this City Council, of picnic area reservation /rental rates; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed the materials presented to it and has <br />determined that the adoption of reservation rates for picnic areas would be in the public <br />interest and for the public benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to consolidate Department rental rates in one <br />resolution and will therefore, as part of this resolution, re -adopt those uniform building <br />rental rates for parks and recreation facilities adopted by Resolution 14505. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the uniform building rental rates for Parks and Recreation facilities <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, are hereby re- <br />adopted and re- established. <br />2.
