ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. Kathy Bassett, 488 St. Francis Street, Redwood City, submitted a petition with 1,065 <br /> names in support of a traffic signal on Jefferson at Myrtle. Mrs. Bassett advised that she <br /> and the other petitioners believed the corner was dangerous to everyone trying to cross, <br /> including children trying to get to school or use the community center and parks; the <br /> disabled; seniors; motorists; and the school crossing guard. Mrs. Bassett described how <br /> she and other concerned parents and neighbors had worked with the City's Traffic <br /> Advisory Committee, and were willing to work with City staff on effective alternatives <br /> to make that comer safe for everyone <br /> B. Bill Newell, 1117 Fay Street, Redwood City, also asked the Council for a traffic signal <br /> or other effective traffic device on Jefferson at Myrtle and described some of the <br /> dangerous incidents that have occurred at that corner. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> Page No. 081 <br />
