ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />A. Pat Rushing-Law, Spring Street, Redwood City, told the Council the <br />Optimists Club's Sunflower Festival sales this year were quadruple those <br />of last year. <br />B. Joe Staudt, Broadway merchant, expressed his concerns about the annual <br />Christmas lights for this year, and advised that his fellow merchants on <br />the 2600 block of Broadway are working together to do something special <br />for their block. Mr. Staudt told the Council he was tired of downtown <br />bickering and wanted everyone to work together. <br />C. Joe Steinfeld, Main Street merchant, suggested that the Council grant two <br />festival permits next year, one in August and one in September, which <br />would eliminate the bickering between the Downtown Association and the <br />Merchants Group. <br />D. Gladys Woodhams, Main Street merchant, expressed her anger at the Redwood <br />City Almanac and its editor. <br />E.
