AGREEMENT FOR DEMOLITION SERVICES <br /> Contractor: Randazzo Enterprises Inc. <br /> THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into as of the 29th day of September, 2015, <br /> by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal <br /> corporation of the State of California ("City"), and Randazzo Enterprises, Inc. <br /> ("Contractor")for work on the 1606 Middlefield Project ("Project"). <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. City requires the services of a demolition specialist to demolish a structure <br /> located at 1606 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. Pursuant to Section 2.65 of <br /> the Redwood City Municipal Code, the City solicited written bids without public <br /> advertisement for this contract, as its estimated cost is greater than ten thousand dollars <br /> ($10,000}, but less than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). <br /> B. Contractor has the necessary experience in providing such services and <br /> advice. <br /> C. Selection of Contractor is expected to achieve the desired results in an <br /> expedited fashion. <br /> D. Contractor has submitted a proposal to City and has affirmed its <br /> willingness and ability to perform such work. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br /> contained herein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of Work. City retains Contractor to perform, and Contractor agrees to <br /> render, those services (the "Services") that are defined in attached Exhibit "A," which is <br /> incorporated herein by reference, including but not limited to testing and abatement of <br /> any lead, asbestos or other hazardous substances; application to County and/or <br /> BAAQMD for required permits and licenses, including the J license; demolition of <br /> structure and return of site to a clean condition. Contractor must provide, furnish, and <br /> supply all things necessary and incidental for the timely performance and completion of <br /> the Work, including all necessary labor, materials, equipment, transportation, temporary <br /> facilities, and utilities, unless otherwise specified herein. Contractor must use its best <br /> efforts to complete the Work in a professional and expeditious manner and to meet or <br /> exceed the performance standards required herein. In the event of a conflict between <br /> the provisions of Exhibit "A" and the terms of this Agreement, the terms of this <br /> Agreement shall prevail. City shall have the right to modify the scope of work to delete <br /> tasks in whole or in part. <br /> 1.1 Responsibility for the Work. Contractor is responsible for supervising and <br /> directing all aspects of the Work to facilitate the efficient and timely completion of the <br /> Work.
