7s1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO . 757 <br /> ESTABLISHING PRIMA FACIE SPEC LIMIT <br /> ON BROADWAY BETWEEN DOUGLAS AVENUE <br /> AND SECOND AVENUE . <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : <br /> Section 1 . In accordance with the provisions of Section <br /> 511 . 3 (b ) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California , the <br /> Council of the City of Redwood City hereby determines that the <br /> prima facie speed limit of fifty-five ( 55 ) miles per hour upon <br /> that portion of Broadway between its westerly intersection <br /> with Douglas Avenue and Second Avenue , is more than is reason- <br /> able or safe upon such portion of Broadway, which finding is <br /> made upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey here- <br /> tofore made . <br /> Section 2 . The prima facie speed limit of thirty-five <br /> ( 35 ) miles per hour is hereby established upon all of Broadway <br /> between its westerly intersection with Douglas Avenue and <br /> Second Avenue to facilitate the orderly and safe movement of <br /> traffic upon that portion of Broadway in the ' City of Redwood <br /> City hereinbefore mentioned. <br /> Section 3 . The City Manager of Redwood City is hereby <br /> directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of said <br /> thirty-five ( 35 ) miles per hour prima facie speed limit , in <br /> accordance with the provisions of Section 511 . 3 ( b ) of the <br /> Vehicle Code of the State of California . <br /> Section 4 . Any ,person violating any of the provisions <br /> of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and <br /> upon conviction thereof , shall be punished by a fine not ex- <br /> ceeding Five Hundred Dollars 0500 . 00 ) , or by imprisonment in <br /> the County Jail of San Mateo County, California , for a period <br /> not exceeding six ( 6 ) months , or by both such fine and im- <br /> prisonment . <br /> Section 5 . This Ordinance shall be effective thirty <br /> ( 30 ) days after its adoption . <br /> it- <br />
